The Truth About 2012 – Part III

Wouldn’t it be funny if the Mayan Calendar just ended because the stone wasn’t big enough? Actually on my theme of it doesn’t matter – this is included. But wait! Here is the irony of the age we find ourselves in: While nothing matters – everything counts. Whaaaat?!? Let me explain…

There is a quickening of time – there is no doubt about that. We seem to be hurtling forward into our future and in these weeks before Christmas it is double and treble pace as we try to fit in holiday plans, shopping and parties into the already overflowing bin of to-dos.

And while you continue to skip along your personal yellow brick timeline of self fulfillment and discovery, Earth is spinning mid-latitude (halfway between the equator and the poles) at about 800 miles per hour – day in, day out. Whew! We’re moving!

Now, between the relative eternity of the Earth’s life – a few billion years hence in relation to ours – duration unknown – there is a vast and infinite pool of potential and possibility for every living person. And here is where ‘nothing matters’ but ‘everything counts’ creates the alchemy of a rich life – well loved. (I made a typo and decided it read better than well lived).

There are things in this life over which you have no control whatsoever. The spinning Earth for example. There are things in life over which you have some control. The garbage piling up in landfill sites for example. And then there is the arena of play where only you are in charge. Your own life!

But… but…but… you say. “My job, my kids, my mortgage… I’m not free to choose – I don’t even have time to choose!”

Take a moment and do a 360° look at your day – right now. Who is in it and what’s going on? These are the parameters of your present playground. These are the constructs – including circumstances and relationships that you have created by your thoughts and actions. Today is a manifestation of all thoughts leading up to this moment.

Now take another 360° turn and look at the world you live in. Every manifestation by man – including the way nails are driven into drywall and the way wars are fought – or that they are fought at all, the way we feed ourselves and don’t make sure others are fed; the way we shop, pay for goods, download music are all – ALL – thoughts manifested. Everything. EVERYTHING began with a thought in one mind and was shared until it became an action of creation and then it became a condition – the nail, the war, the internet.

Our consciousness as humanity is visible on Earth. The consciousness of All Creation (God by whatever name) is visible as the Earth and the cosmos. We have the freedom and the free will to impose our consciousness on the pristine backdrop of this green and blue globe – one thought at a time. Your thought and my thought. And to paraphrase the now iconic words of Dr. Phil, “How’s that working for us?”

Now if you think that is a stretch, think on this. Consider Google. Google surpassed any other search engine contenders for the simple reason that it delivered higher quality links faster and gained customer satisfaction and then customer loyalty. We want what we want when we want it and Google delivers it best – at the moment. Now Google is not a group of gremlins who read every word printed on a website, nor do they personally assess what range of interests you or I search for – so ask yourself, how do I only get Google ads for things that I might be interested in?

Google is an algorithm – a mathematical construct. Its ‘consciousness’ is mechanical. It does not judge between bombs and babies. It gives you what you ask for when you ask for it. Last year the count of websites was 182 million and it is doubling as I write. Every day there are hundreds of millions of searches on Google alone. What is the significance of that? Only that at the beginning of every search from every corner of the world is a pair of fingertips tapping on keys. Google responds objectively to every human inquiry regardless of gender, race, religion, status or fame.

Facebook shows us, at a glance, where people’s thoughts are, what interests them and what their predominant outlook is. Happy? Conflicted? Self consumed or Self actuating? There it all is with photos and video links.

Now, I’m not saying Google is God. Absolutely not! Google has a team of programmers for the algorithm continually tweaking the equation to catch those who would abuse the system and to filter out nefarious content – or at least warn users. God/Life/Creation doesn’t do that. Free will is just that. We are on our own recognizance. We will answer for our choices sooner or later – and that future seems to be rushing to greet us.

Who will we answer to? Is God going to punish us? Will we go to hell? No and no. I think we answer to ourselves and that is punishing enough. If we could only grasp it, we would know our culpability in the state of this world and alter it right now. There is no them. Them upon whom it is so handy to hang the state of the world – is you and me!

What were you doing right before you started reading this? Do you have a backlog of work and a demanding boss? Do you have a ‘forelog’ of household and holiday stuff that must get done? Are you stressed by finances, the state of your significant relationships, the loss of your personal time, your space? Are your dreams a fast fading mirage on the distant horizon of some tomorrow?

Change it. Change it right now. Nature will show you. Depending on your stomach and intensity of desire you might choose a cataclysm – like a mountain toppling earthquake or the gentle erosion of wind and water until you have a grand and beautiful landscape.

Before you choose, be aware of this: Creation, by its nature is also run on mathematical equations – sacred geometry – the Golden Mean. We see it in the swirl on the shell, the ratio of our body dimensions, and in the Milky Way. The energy that drives that equation is the power of pure Love. Pure Love. Unconditional Love. The Love of Creation for Herself – in all Her parts – you and me included. Love is the driving force of all Life and the expansion of our experience and the evolution of our universe.

When we damn the flow of nature, we get a lot of stress. When we choose to let Nature flow where She will we get a lot of energy and a rush to fulfillment. Love loves Life and Life loves Love. Once you remove the sticks clogging the river of your own passion for Life, Life itself will lift you up and into the flow of abundance and joy!

Some people will stay in your life and some people will go. Just know that when you free yourself you free those whose lives you touch with their own freedom to choose. Your relationships – personal, business and social -will never be the same. They will be better or be gone. If they go, know that they go to have other experiences that will bring them to the knowing of their Self as Life intended it. Each of us, remember, is on our own personal timeline and our experience on Earth not only effects us, but those around us and then by our collective choices and consciousness the world itself.

And if you think you fear change, then think on this. Every thought you have will find its sister or brother in others’ thoughts until there is a river of thought which will act of its own volition to create some circumstance or relationship. This in turn creates an expanding experience into the world. When you put your fingers on your computer keyboard or phone or whatever gizmo connects you to the mechanical consciousness of the Internet, what are you asking to come into your life? Now, what thoughts are you asking the Universe, infinitely more objective, but Loving and expansive power to bring into your life?

When you get this and understand the power of Love, all fear will dissolve. The prospect of 2012 will dissolve into the pure potential of today.

And when you live every day to its fullness of love and gratitude for the beauty of this world society we continue to create and in reverence for the glorious Earth who is our true mother, these words from 1 Corinthians 15:55 will ring true; “O Death where is they sting?”

I will close with another passage from Corinthians for all of you, especially my friend Eric. These words are about the nature of love. They were read at George’s and my wedding – 27 years ago yesterday. They are beautiful and true and the real algorithm for Life itself!

1 Corinthians 13

If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing.

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. For we know in part and we prophesy in part, but when perfection comes, the imperfect disappears. When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me. Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.

And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.
